Body brushing, also known as dry skin brushing, is a technique which involves vigorous brushing of the skin with a soft, dry brush. It stimulates your circulatory system, helps to drain your lymphatic system and exfoliates your skin.
Body brushing has many benefits and can help in various areas:
• Exfoliation of the skin removing dead skin cells
• Encourage new cells growth
• Soften and tighten the skin
• Lymphatic drainage eliminating toxins and waste products
• Stimulate the circulation increasing nutrient uptake
• Decrease cellulite
• Boost the immune system
• Stimulate the nervous system
Increasing the effectiveness of your body systems, and the boost to your skin, ensures that nutrients are delivered throughout the body (both internally and externally) as efficiently and effectively as possible resulting in optimum health benefits.
Body brushing prior to your massage is recommended as it fully prepares your skin for the absorption of the oils and creams, leaving your skin feeling refreshed, invigorated and moisturised. It is an excellent way to ensure your overall treatment is as effective as possible.
If you would like to include body brushing in your treatment allow an extra 10 minutes in addition to the overall treatment period.
